A bird in the hand is worth than two in the bush.


It's better to have a lesser but certain advantage than the possibility of a greater one that may come to nothing.
This proverb refers back to medieval falconry where a bird in the hand was a valuable asset and certainly worth more than two in the bush.
A  bird in the hand is worth than two in the bush.
A living dog is better than a dead lion.
"A bird in hand - is worth ten fly at large."
"Better one bird in hand than ten in the wood."
