Wonder Grain.

     Obesity has become a concerning health problem in India,affecting five percent of the country"s population.
Unhealthy foods have captured the food plates of youth
 On the other hand,a large population of children in the country is malnurished and deficient in calcium &protein

No wonder then,that millet & ragi (eleusine coracana),can be a good solution to all these extremities.
       Ragi has an important protein component,amino acid methionine,which makes it an important low costingredient for fulfilling protein in take requirements of millions poor.
      Apart from important protein components,it also  has substantial amount of carbohydrate,minerals,calcium &fibre.
A versatile commodity
       The grain is fermented and converted into a drink(beer) in Nepal.
In southern India it is a recomended food, by doctors,for infants of six months and above because of its high nutritional content(mainly calcium & protein).
In India, ragi recipes are more than hundreds, common food stuffs such as dosa,idli, noodules and ladoo are made out of ragi.
